The Wellsboro Cross Country teams had their first home meet of the season, last night, September 14, against South Williamsport.
Wellsboro swept the event at the Varsity level with the boys winning 15-50 and the girls edging the Lady Mounties, 12-16.
Sophomore Max Macias was the top runner for the boys, finishing 1st in 20:49, followed by sophomore Ethan Geneski in 3rd (24:00), sophomore Robbie Bowers in 4th (25:46), freshman Ethan Pollaro in 5th (46:43), and senior Tristan Lane in 6th (50:13).
On the girls side freshman Lauren Kosek won in a time of 22:40. Sophomore Sophia Yoder (26:26) came home 4th and junior Karah Blackwell (32:14) was 7th.
In the Junior High races Wellsboro split with South Williamsport. The Wellsboro girls won 15-50, however the South boys won 9-12. Kaci Kosek (14:14) paced the Lady Hornets followed by Bella Hawn (14:13), Addie Chaborek (15:51), Molly Tice (15:52), Anja Przybycien (17:30), and Sylvia Lane (31:28). Tait Webster (14:39) led the boys followed by Jacob Patterson (14:48) and Owen Stumbo (14:53).
The Hornets return to NTL competition next Tuesday, September 19 at Northeast Bradford with Towanda.
